Bilha is a native-born Zfat citizen, born in 1945. Sixth generation to a family of tailors who designed and sewed apparel for almost two centuries. From childhood, Bilha absorbed the charm of the town, its colors and atmosphere. She grew up surrounded by accomplished artists who lived and worked in Zefat. From them she learnt and absorbed the true components of artistic creation, in different artists’ workshops. She studied eagerly and persevered under their guidance and was inspired by their works. Bilha continued to create and develop on her own accord and individuality. Even as a young girl she experimented with different materials: wool, textile, glass and more. She ultimately found her way, investing most of her skills and time in design and sculpture in textiles.

She created tapestry, patchwork quilts, runners, religious objects and many other items. All her works are sold at her gallery in the Artists’ Colony. Her items are mainly based on application and patchwork.

In 1980-1982 she studied pottery at Tel Hai College.

In 1982 she opened the design and hand craft gallery in the Zefat Artists’ Colony – and the gallery has remained open since then.

In 1983-1989, she added painting to her acquired skills [under the personal mentorship of painter Alexander Bogan]/

In 1982-1985 Bilha served as an instructor at the Zefat employment center as well as working in art therapy. She has also taught art at the Zefat Youth Art Center.

Bilha has taught various types of handwork at adult community centers, too – knitting, artistic embroidery and other skills.
